Requesting Speakers – RC3 Sessions at the National Homeland Security Conference

We are requesting RC3 members as speakers for our two RC3 sessions at the National Homeland Security Conference on May 20th in Philadelphia.  Please submit your speaking proposals, indicating for which session, by sending an email to regionalccc@gmail.com.     

Session 1: Successful Public/Private Partnerships: hosted by the Regional Consortium Coordinating Council (RC3)

  • Come learn the best practices for operating a public/private partnership.  Lessons learned are from the RC3 2014 Member and Mission Landscape Study where each RC3 member was interviewed and asked in detail about their background and activities supporting the critical infrastructure security and resilience mission such as Planning and Preparedness, Training and Exercises, Information Sharing, and Emergency Response. 
  • The session will include case studies and tips from 3 of the most successful partnerships for critical infrastructure. 

Speaking Requirements

  • Three examples of partnership successes
  • 15-20 minute length
  • Keep PowerPoint visual and interesting (Check out these tips… and the science behind them)
  • Finish with 3-5 practical tips

Session 2: Working with the Private Sector: Examining the Return on Investment for engaging the Owners/Operators of Critical Infrastructure: hosted by Regional Consortium Coordinating Council (RC3)

  • Why work with the private sector in your emergency planning?  How can you engage the private sector if there are no partnerships in your community?  Do you need to work with the C-Suite? 
  • Once engaged, what do they bring to the table when disaster strikes? 
  • Hear 3 examples of private sector in action during a disaster. 
  • Walk away with a checklist to bring businesses in your community to the emergency preparedness discussion as key partners. 

Speaking Requirements

  • Three real-life examples of partnership in action in response to emergency or disaster
  • Highlight community benefit from private sector participation
  • 15-20 minute length
